  • The Nicola Robinson Scholarship funds an annual scholarship for a Health NZ nurse working in the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer service.
  • A rare paediatric cancers clinical trial fund for the Australian and New Zealand Children’s Haematology and Oncology Group (ANZCHOG) supported by the Wayne Francis Charitable Trust.
  • Research into practical therapies for the treatment of bipolar disorder supported by the Sue Bradford Memorial Fund.

2024

  • Funding of $33k to Te Whatu Ora Waitaha for the provision of Medical Mediation Training for staff within Child Health.
  • Macpac Fund for Good kindly donates equipment and sportswear to the Child, Adolescent and Family Service Adventure Therapy Group.

2023

  • Whānau beverage station opened in the Waipapa Christchurch Hospital Children's Ward.
  • Māia launches the ‘Better Space’ campaign and raises $1,000,000 for Kahurangi, the new Child, Adolescent and Family mental health outpatients facility, with the support of dollar matching from the Rātā Foundation.
  • Feast 2023 is held at the Christchurch Town Hall in September raising $360,000 for Kahurangi.
  • A mobile mini-car is donated to the Waipapa Christchurch Children's Ward to transport children to surgery kindly donated by Vital Healthcare Property Trust.
  • Purchase of a range of chairs and seating options to assist with patient care and comfort within the Older Person’s Health service at Burwood Hospital.
  • Māia facilitates the financial support for a programme to train registered nurses to become anaesthetic assistants, enabling them to assist anaesthetists in surgery.
  • The purchase of reclining chairs for care and comfort of haematology patients who have a long length of stay while being treated.
  • Partnership with Wayne Francis charitable trust to fund research into children with rare cancers renewed until 2030.
  • Waiwetu Trust becomes a project partner.

2022

  • Funded the Listening to Families website. A website for caregivers needing support and advice with questions about health challenges facing their children, young people and whānau (e.g. anxiety, ADHD, autism).
  • The 2022 Feast is held at Te Pae Christchurch in September 2022 raising $300,000 for the new Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Outpatient Facility.
  • OneNZ (formerly Vodafone) join Māia's family of business partners.
  • An ambulance is donated to Hato Hone St John through a private donation to Māia.
  • Hughes Developments becomes a business partner.
  • The Pōhutukawa Pathway mural is painted by Ella Ward, commissioned by Māia Business Partner, Westpac, at CAF South to brighten the current inpatient facility.
  • Westfield Riccarton chooses Māia for its Christmas gift wrapping station donations.
  • Equipment to perform Polysomnography (PSG) overnight sleep study testing for children.

2021

  • Māia's next project is unveiled - upgraded Child and Youth Mental Health facilities.
  • Our inaugural Cocktail Party is held at the Great Hall, The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora.
  • 300 home sensory starter kits are distributed for youth mental wellness throughout Rolleston, Rangiora and Ashburton.
  • An ambulance is donated to Hato Hone St John through a private donation to Māia.
  • Purchased 30 specialist maternity chairs for Christchurch Women's Hospital.
  • Chapman Tripp becomes a project partner.
  • Full term baby simulation manikin purchased for staff resuscitation training at Waipapa Christchurch Hospital.
  • New Zealand community trust (NZCT) announce $1M contribution to the Child, Adolescent and Family mental health outpatients project.

2020

  • $2 million worth of improvements to Burwood Spinal Injuries Unit thanks to a bequest by Cyril Smith.
  • $600,000 announced for children with rare cancers thanks to a gift agreement with Wayne Francis Charitable Trust.
  • Bequest of $655,000 received from the Estate of John Moffat for mental health and addiction services.
  • Māia purchases an ultrasound machine for Kaikoura Health, thanks to donations from Pegasus Health, MainPower and Gerald and Peggy Salkeld.
  • We have lift off! Our rooftop helipad and enhanced child health facilities are complete - and our initial goal to raise $5.2 million is achieved!
  • Child’s play area in the Waipapa Christchurch Children's Ward is completed.
  • 60 parent beds are purchased for the Waipapa Christchurch Children's Ward by individual and family donors.

2019

  • Colliers International Christchurch become a business partner.
  • The 2019 Feast gala is held in the Christchurch Town Hall in August raising $160,000 for Child and Youth Mental Health.
  • Family Room in the Waipapa Christchurch Children's Ward is completed in partnership with Ronald McDonald House, South Island.
  • Westfield Riccarton chooses Māia for its Christmas gift wrapping station donations.
  • A preterm (25 weeks gestation) neonatal training manikin called Premature Anne gifted as a training tool for lifesaving resuscitation skills to Waipapa Christchurch Hospital.

2018

  • Māia launches fund raising campaign called 13 minutes to raise $1M for a future-proofed rooftop helipad at Christchurch Hospital, with the support of dollar matching from the Rātā Foundation.
  • Canterbury Orthopaedic Services Trust donates $150,000 to the rooftop helipad project.
  • Mackenzie Charitable Foundation approves a grant $150,000 to the rooftop helipad project.
  • Advance Ashburton donates $50,000 to the rooftop helipad project.
  • At the conclusion of the 13 Minutes campaign over $1.1M is raised for the rooftop helipad.
  • In August, Bic Runga performs with the CSO at the Māia Feast gala raising $145,000.
  • Buddle Findlay Child Health Foundation become a founding business partner.
  • Westfield Riccarton chooses Māia for its Christmas gift wrapping station donations.

2017

  • The Pearson Family join Māia as founding champions.

  • The Rainbow Children’s Trust donates $1.2m to the children’s facility upgrades at Waipapa Christchurch Hospital.
  • Westpac becomes Māia’s first founding business partner.
